Title: Talent and Operations Associate

About the role
We're looking for someone who lives for variety and thrives as the go-to person
in a fast moving environment. This is a hybrid role combining talent acquisition
(50%) and people operations (50%), perfect for someone who loves recruitment but
also gets satisfaction from making sure onboarding is seamless, offboarding is
smooth, and team members feel fully supported.
While the role split is roughly 50/50, the balance between talent, people and
ops will naturally shift at times but don’t worry, we'll work closely with you
to help manage your time, priorities, and output.
You’ll be the main point of contact for Team America hiring and people ops
needs, playing a key role in how we scale and care for our team in a thoughtful
and high impact way.
What the team has already achieved this year
We’re a small team that moves fast. So far in 2025, we’ve:
• Run 2 company performance review cycles
• Launched 2 employee engagement surveys (with high response rate + actions!)
• Continued to deliver Zen Leaders as well as coordinating many lunch n learns
and holiday training sessions
• Made 127 new hires
• Conducted 1,518 interviews
• Revamped our handbooks, policies, and processes to ensure 100% company
compliance
• Managed countless daily moments across onboarding, offboarding, documentation,
engagement, and general team support
This is the momentum you’ll step into and help drive forward.
Who you’ll be working with
You’ll report directly to Grace, our Senior Talent Partner, who has hired over
100+ team members at Zen and brings deep experience in high velocity, high
quality recruiting. You’ll also be supported and coached by Sandy Vo (that’s
me!) People Lead at Zen, with a background in both recruitment and HR and Ops.
We're a small, collaborative People team, UK based but globally minded and we’re
ready to support you as you grow and own your work.
What you’ll own
Talent Acquisition (50%)
• Full recruitment lifecycle for US and Canadian roles, from job description to
offer stage.
• Cohort and high volume hiring, especially for educator / school facing and
internal roles that grow in waves.
• Stakeholder partnership, aligning with hiring managers and senior leadership
to ensure fast, focused hiring that is constantly evolving to your market
insights.
• Proactively source, network, and maintain strong candidate pools.
• Act as the key communicator for candidates, being responsive, clear, and
empathetic at every stage.
People Operations (50%)
• Onboarding coordination, ensuring everything is ready for new hires
(contracts, tech, logins, welcome kits) so they feel supported from day one.
• Offboarding, leading smooth, respectful exit processes (handling systems,
documentation, and exit interviews).
• HR & Ops admin, maintaining org structure documents, employee records, and
checklists with attention to detail and discretion.
• Process improvement, identifying gaps, flag inefficiencies, and suggest better
ways of doing things.
