Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Assistant Site Superintendent is responsible for supporting the safety and efficiency of construction site activities with the trades and subcontractors. The individual in this role works closely with the Superintendent to determine staffing/resource needs, material quantities, and ensure the team has the right resources needed to perform the work. A champion of safety, and a resource for all those on site needing support, the role is an integral part of the construction site leadership team.
The ideal candidate has a mix of experience working on residential high-rise concrete and wood-frame projects, and shares our commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll do:
Assist the Superintendent with the project schedules, conducting inspections, and managing resources to meet expectations and timelines of the project scope
Maintain daily field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, and other documentation as needed
Monitor work performance to ensure project rules and safety requirements are being followed
Report regularly on job progress, plans, and potential issues that could significantly affect costs or schedules
Advise the Superintendent of potential problems including work interferences and scheduling difficulties, and assist in implementing solutions
Ensure employees, subcontractors, and contractors are following the company’s policies and procedures
Monitor and co-manage finishing aspect of projects
Additional duties as directed by the Site Superintendent
What you’ll bring:
5+ years of experience in residential construction, ideally a mix of high-rise concrete and mid-rise wood-frame projects
3+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing a site team
Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and quality control documents and procedures
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to clearly communicate with others
Ability to build relationships with team members and trades alike
Ability to oversee and delegate tasks
Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
Enthusiasm for taking on challenges and new initiatives
Proficiency in Office and Project Management software (e.g. MS Office/Project)
