AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR
POSITION TYPE: Non-regular Type 1 contract
POSITION START: ASAP
FACULTY OVERVIEW:
The Faculty of Trades and Technology is currently seeking a Non-regular Type 1 Automotive Service Technician instructor to provide short-term delivery of Foundation and Apprenticeship training which may extend from a single day to several weeks/months.
This position would suit:
An instructor living in the lower mainland looking for some part-time employment and available on-call, or for a scheduled period of time,
Individual that is (or wishes to be) semi-retired, or
An individual who is interested in sharing their experience to guide and train future trades people.
This instructor will be part of a team of faculty that work independently with students in a classroom environment as well as manage projects and instruction in a fully functional Automotive shop.
There is an expectation of familiarizing yourself with established curriculum and the online training management system, as well as classroom/exam prep and marking outside student contact hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A BC Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal (IP RSE), or an Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification with IP RSE from another jurisdiction.
A minimum of five years’ diverse experience as an automotive repair journeyperson.
QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with students is essential.
Previous instructional experience is an asset.
*SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
