SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Coordinator, Transitions Programs, the Orientation & Transitions Student Assistant will work on short-term projects and assist with general office tasks related to Orientation and Transitions.
PRINICIPAL DUTIES:
Assisting with the promotion and coordination of Orientation events and volunteer opportunities
Assisting with the development and distribution of marketing materials
Representing the Orientation Team on social media and at campus-wide events such as Open House and Welcome Week
Soliciting, collecting, and evaluating event feedback
Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be enrolled in a certificate, diploma, or degree program at KPU
Positive attitude, reliable, and flexible with hours
Marketing and/or event experience an asset
Organized and strong attention to detail
Ability to work unsupervised and amongst a team
Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience using various forms of social media an asset
Ability to travel between campuses.
Salary Information
Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
