About the Role
The Manager, Learning Design, Technology, and Media leads the planning and coordination of course development within the Centre for Educational Excellence (CEE). This role manages the design, development, and implementation of educational technologies, multimedia resources, and course production in Canvas for online, blended, and in-person delivery. Additionally, this position oversees a team responsible for educational media and course development, ensuring quality assurance, accessibility, and alignment with best practices. This role provides strategic leadership in supporting faculty use of media and technology in teaching, maintain awareness of emerging trends, and promote the Centre's work across the SFU community.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Business, or a related discipline with six years of post-secondary experience in project management or online/blended education design and development; experience in a management role with supervision of a multidisciplinary team and troubleshooting/solving problems with teams; experience with project management platforms (e.g. MS Planner) and with document management systems (e.g. SharePoint); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Excellent knowledge and expertise in interactive instructional design and technologies, interface design, web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and learning management systems. ((e.g. Canvas).
Demonstrated knowledge of best pedagogical practices in online/blended course development methods and their application to teaching and learning.
Knowledge of pedagogy, including the theory, research and practice of online and blended learning teaching strategies to create engaging environments for students.
Excellent project management and quality assurance management skills; excellent collaboration skills on cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent strategic planning, cost-benefit analysis and resourcing skills.
