The Opportunity
Duration: 4 Months

General Bank of Canada is looking to fill a fulltime, 4-month Co-op placement position. We are looking for a creative and driven Marketing Student to join our team and help bring our departments to life through engaging video storytelling and compelling written content. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in internal communications, employer branding, and multimedia production while taking ownership of marketing initiatives in a highly autonomous environment. You won’t be joining a traditional marketing team. Instead, you’ll be the go-to marketing expert within a team of HR professionals who will support you in every way possible.
Position Responsibilities
This Co-op placement will be a project-based opportunity focusing on enterprise-wide and departmental storytelling. Your main responsibilities include:
Collaborate with each department to gather insights about their purpose, key responsibilities, goals, and how they connect to the broader organization.
Capture unique departmental aspects, team dynamics, and real work environments to create authentic and informative evergreen content.
Use this content to create both short, engaging videos and digital biographies that highlight each team’s role and impact to be used for recruitment and onboarding.
What You Bring to the Table
We are seeking a student with the following qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Media Production or other fulltime academic program. For Students whose academic program or major is not the preferred discipline, Students with experience and a skillset in digital marketing or content creation will be considered including Students interested in Financial Services.
Strong storytelling skills with a passion for digital content creation including videos and written content.
Tech savvy with the ability to create modern, relatable, visually-appealing content.
Proficiency in video editing software or digital tools such as Canva, PowToon, or other relevant tools.
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
Strong relationship builder. You will be interviewing team members and working cross-functionally with individuals spanning all levels of the organization.
Creative thinker with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
