What you can expect when joining the team
Reporting to the Vice President of Legal Affairs, you will act as a legal
advisor for all matters related to legal issues, privacy, and regulatory
compliance within the company. You will be responsible for advising other
departments on legal and contractual matters, primarily related to privacy,
while also ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to our
operations across Canada.
Your daily life
In your day to day, you will be led to:

Advise and support members of various departments in their contractual and
business relationships, as well as in the sound management of regulatory
risks for which they are responsible;

Advise and guide the different areas of the company on legislative, legal,
privacy, technology law, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property
matters;

Actively contribute to the maintenance of the company's privacy program, the
preparation of required documentation, and the upkeep of associated records;

Advise technology teams on the protection of personal information, starting
at the design or update phase of various products and services;
-
Assess legal risks in business transactions and propose risk mitigation
alternatives;
-
Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements within the organization;
-
Participate in the maintenance of controls and audits related to compliance
frameworks concerning the protection of personal information and corporate
data;

Support the Privacy Officer and help guide the organization toward the
adoption of best practices in this area, in accordance with Quebec, Canadian,
and international standards;

Ensure the protection of the company’s technological assets;
-
Communicate and collaborate with all team members to ensure optimal alignment
on business opportunities and priorities.
Your profile
Do you have significant experience in business law, technology, and privacy
protection? Are you autonomous and action-oriented? Do you have strong
negotiation skills and demonstrate judgment and integrity? Do you want to join a

A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and experience in the protection of personal
information as well as in emerging technology law;

A minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate litigation or business law;

Significant experience in privacy and data protection;

Knowledge of technology and software contract matters;
-
Strong computer skills;
-
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
-
Proven drafting and writing abilities;
-
Outstanding organizational skills;
-
Sound judgment and a strong sense of integrity;
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation
abilities;
-
A business-oriented mindset, autonomy, and strong technical skills;
-
Experience with and understanding of the SaaS sales model (a strong asset);
-
A certification such as CIPP/C, CIPM, or CIPT (a strong asset);

Since you will be regularly interacting with English-speaking colleagues
located outside of Québec, proficiency in both English and French (spoken,
written, and read) is required.
