TITLE: Baker 1 LOCATION: Snowbird STATUS: Full time, Hourly SCHEDULE: 5.30 am to 1.30 pm – typically 5 days per week Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays. SUMMARY As a Baker 1, you will work under the direction of the Pastry Chef and will be responsible for coordinating individual workstation and communicating with the Pastry Chef. WHAT YOU WILL DO Report to work on time in the proper uniform. Ensure standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained daily. Maintain good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen. Participates in on-going employee training. Takes part in all incentive programs. Maintains line of communication between Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff. WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE Must demonstrate competency in reading writing and arithmetic and have the basic knowledge of culinary terms and knife skills. Must demonstrate ability to learn recipes, handle all kitchen equipment, and learn basic kitchen techniques. 2-3 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence Food Handler Permit Must have the ability to multi-task i.e., prep several items at once while accepting direction from the Chef or Sous Chef. Position requires exercise of judgment, problem solving and an understanding of Snowbird operations. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules. Must be at least 18 years of age. WORK SCHEDULE Shift Schedule: 5.30 am to 1.30 pm – depending on business levels. Typically, 5 days per week including weekends and holidays. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, at occasional times of road closures. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
