Reports to: Manager, In-Line Sample Sewing
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Your opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Sample Maker 1, you contribute to the success of the seasonal development
process by providing quality, on-time concepts, prototypes, and samples that
meet Arc'teryx test and performance criteria.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be
performed on-location. This is a temporary role for a duration of 6 months, with
the opportunity for extension.
Meet your future team:
The sample making team supports the business in creating and evolving asked
concepts, prototypes, and samples to product creation and development teams.
This team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners to realize
ideas into commercialized successes.

If you were in the Sample Maker 1 role now, here are some of the core activities
you would be responsible for:
- Producing quality and on-time development samples
- Continuously leveraging your knowledge of pattern layout and sewing sequence
- Assembling garments from different types of textiles, such as knits, woven,
coated and laminated fabrics, etc
- Fulfilling requests for adjustments and alterations such as such as foot
types and adjustments, needle selection, thread tension, etc
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product developers, pattern makers, and
designers to ensure specs, patterns, and construction align with product
requirements
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles
of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
Are you our next Sample Maker 1?
- You have 3+ years’ experience sewing samples, and experience in a production
environment
- You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- You have experience with single needle, serger and cover stitch machines
- You have strong interpersonal skills
- You have a basic command of English and effective oral and written
communications skills
- You have reliable time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- You thrive in a fast paced, diverse, ever evolving and values led environment
- You demonstrate initiative, agility, and commitment, while balancing autonomy
and collaboration
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best
(sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do
what is right
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

$44,000 - $61,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$44,000 - CAD$61,000 at the time of
this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as
job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper
end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated
expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly
transferable experience.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not
include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
