Join our Shared Services Accounting Team as an Accountant, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results while enabling informed business decisions through timely, precise reporting. Reporting to a Regional Accounting Leader, you’ll collaborate with both finance and non-finance teams to improve financial understanding and support overall business performance. This hybrid role (on-site two days per week) requires a experience in manufacturing and cost accounting, along with hands-on experience using Tier 1 ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. You’ll contribute to process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and support the integration of acquired sites to drive consistency and efficiency across the organization. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accuracy Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making. Maintain general ledger integrity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Manage cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis. Analyze gross margins, cost structures, and manufacturing performance, providing insights to leadership. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate costing and inventory reporting. Process Improvement & Controls Identify and resolve gaps in financial controls and accounting processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Drive process standardization and efficiency improvements across the enterprise. Support the integration of newly acquired sites, aligning them with company financial operations. ERP & Systems Management Utilize Tier 1 ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for financial transactions and reporting. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data entry and reporting structures. Participate in ERP enhancements and automation initiatives to improve financial processes. Business Partnership & Communication Work closely with non-financial stakeholders (operations, supply chain, leadership, etc.) to help them understand financial processes and their impact on business performance. Act as a financial advisor, providing insights on cost controls, budgeting, and financial best practices. Communicate financial concepts in a clear and accessible manner to non-financial teams. Compliance & Audit Support Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to policies and financial regulations. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and support risk management. Other Key Responsibilities Support ad hoc financial analysis and cross-functional projects as required. Contribute to the overall success of the Shared Services Accounting Team by driving continuous improvement initiatives. Experience Good working knowledge of IFRS preferred Minimum 5 years of accounting experience within a dynamic business environment, preferably with a mid-large company Minimum 1 years of manufacturing experience Experience and demonstrated ability in effectively partnering with senior business leaders, developing a broad understanding of all aspects of operations Strong analytical and financial modelling skills to understand, interpret, and accurately measure financial performance and communicate financial data Track record of being a contributing member of a high performance accounting team Working knowledge Tier1 ERP system preferred (Oracle, SAP) preferred Strong computer skills – MS office suite Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is required. A CPA designation is preferred. Candidates who demonstrate a comparable level of knowledge and expertise through a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $90,000-$110,000 CAD per year. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits.
