ENERCON Canada is seeking a Grid Operations Coordinator to provide real-time technical support to wind turbine maintenance and commissioning technicians. The goal is to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of interventions on ENERCON's high-voltage (HV) switching equipment. The role also involves participating in procedure reviews and continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
Real-Time HV Operations Supervision
Monitor and validate technician interventions on transformers, circuit breakers, and HV switching devices
Serve as a technical reference point for field teams (maintenance and installation)
Intervention Tracking & Reporting
Track all HV equipment interventions and maintain accurate records
Generate regular status reports on faults, alerts, and performance trends
Work Instruction Development & Validation
Review, recommend, and write HV-related work procedures and Technical Service Instructions (TSIs)
Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards (e.g., lock-out/tag-out, electrical codes)
Continuous Improvement
Analyze incidents and faults to identify root causes and propose solutions
Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize processes and reduce downtime
Communication & Training
Clearly present complex technical information, both verbally and in writing
Lead or contribute to training sessions and workshops for technicians and managers
Collaboration & Monitoring
Collaborate with project and engineering teams to integrate field feedback into system updates
Monitor regulatory and technological developments related to HV systems
Profile
Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance/operation of HV equipment (transformers, breakers, switchgear)
Practical experience with lock-out/tag-out procedures and electrical safety standards
Strong ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely (oral and written)
Comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences (technicians, managers)
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and autonomy in solving technical issues
Proactive, curious, and service-oriented, with strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills
Bilingual in French and English (required)
Valid driver’s license and availability to travel occasionally in Canada and to Germany (up to 6 weeks/year)
Proficient with SAP and MS Office, especially Excel for tracking interventions and generating reports
