We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to lead a team to frame manual wall panels, floors, and stairs. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to
operate equipment and hand and power tools.

What you will do:
Assemble/finish pre-built wall, and floor structures
Examine and understand specifics of blueprints, building plans and work orders
to prepare project layouts to determine the dimensions and lead the internal team in executing the home build
Measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential buildings.
Install exterior windows and doors
Frame floor panels as per joist layout and framing shop drawings
Conduct interior work such as fitting interior doors and casings
Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes.
Provide on the job training & mentorship to other employees in a manufacturing environment.
Maintain safety standards in the work place through daily tool box meetings.
Follow quality control procedures.
Work with the procurement team and material management teams to ensure raw materials are available.
Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform additional duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in framing position.
Experience leading a team of people.
Journeyman Carpenter certification.
Proficient and proactive in ensuring onsite framing meets Alberta Building Codes.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset.
Team work oriented.
Excellent problem solving skills and good communication skills.
Residential construction knowledge.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and work orders.
Knowledge of health and safety rules.
Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
Must be able to distinguish colors.
May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
