About the Role: We're looking for a seasoned Lead Database Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and optimization of our large-scale data solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of Oracle SQL, Spark ETL, Python, and proven leadership capabilities. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust ETL pipelines, ensuring data integrity and performance, and guiding a team of data engineers towards best practices and continuous improvement. What You'll Do: ETL Development and Optimization: Design, build, and fine-tune high-performance ETL pipelines using Python and Oracle SQL, leveraging your expertise in query optimization and performance tuning. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, best practices, and continuous learning. Collaboration and Solution Design: Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. Data Integrity and Security: Implement and maintain processes to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and optimal performance across our data platforms. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, advocating for and implementing improvements to our data infrastructure and processes. What You'll Need: Extensive Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a closely related field. Database Expertise: Mastery of Oracle SQL, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning techniques. ETL Proficiency: Proven experience developing and optimizing ETL processes using Apache Spark. Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Scala and/or Python for data engineering tasks. Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, manage projects effectively, and foster a positive and productive work environment. Data Platform Knowledge: Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, distributed computing architectures, and cloud platforms. Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Bonus Points: DevOps Mindset: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Real-Time Data Experience: Knowledge of real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka.
