As a Category Purchasing Manager – Packaging, you will work closely with both internal and external partners to define our procurement strategies. With your expertise in sourcing and packaging, you will contribute to various cost reduction, performance optimization, and innovation projects. What’s involved in this role: Strategic procurement management: Manage a packaging portfolio worth $75M–$90M, delivering 3–5% in annual savings through RFPs, renegotiations, or specification optimizations. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (operations, marketing, etc.) to build long-term purchasing strategies aligned with business needs. Value creation and innovation: Lead strategic projects aimed at improving efficiency, adding consumer value, and positively impacting revenue, EBITDA, and capital expenditures. Risk analysis and management: Implement risk management strategies within the category, using tools like theoretical cost models and supply optimization planning. Supplier relationship leadership: Select, negotiate with, and maintain strong partnerships with strategic suppliers to enhance value and performance. Critical thinking and creativity: Challenge the status quo by proposing innovative yet realistic solutions that account for operational realities. Project organization and management: Oversee multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while prioritizing those aligned with Agropur’s strategic goals. What you need to join our team: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree is a plus); 5+ years of solid experience in procurement and supply chain, including category management (packaging is a strong asset); Strong business acumen and analytical skills; Demonstrated leadership and excellent interpersonal skills; Strong communication and influencing skills across various stakeholders; Proven negotiation and supplier management expertise; Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
