Travel to Office expectations
For Remote Roles: As this role is remote, there will be in-office events that
will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office.
These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and
annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: As this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside
within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing.

About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Director of Engineering to lead
software initiatives. This leader will drive the modernization of our platforms
through AI and emerging technologies, ensuring our systems are safe, secure,
reliable, and scalable. You will play a pivotal role in transforming how we
deliver value to clinicians and patients by accelerating time to value and
resolving technical debt.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams focused on nursing support domains, including clinical
workflows, documentation, and care coordination.
- Champion the adoption of AI/ML technologies to enhance product capabilities
and engineering efficiency.
- Drive architectural modernization efforts, including cloud-native
transformation and technical debt remediation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, SRE, and compliance
teams to deliver secure and reliable software.
- Establish and monitor engineering KPIs related to velocity, quality, and
system reliability.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and grow engineering managers and senior technical talent.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a senior
leadership role.
- Proven success in leading engineering teams in healthcare, clinical, or
similarly regulated environments.
- Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and secure
development practices.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML to real-world engineering problems.
- Strong track record of managing technical debt and modernizing legacy
systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with AI platforms such as Azure AI, OpenAI, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with LLMs, predictive analytics, or generative AI in production
environments.
- Background in nursing support systems or clinical informatics.
- Experience with SRE practices, observability, and incident response.
- Passion for building inclusive, high-performing engineering cultures.
- Strong preference to candidates located in the GTA.

$192,000 - $213,000 a year
At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our
total rewards package. The CA base salary range for this position is $192,000 -
$213,000 + bonus or commission + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are
determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects
the target for new hire salaries for the position across all CA locations.
Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills
and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience,
