The Branch Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of branch and multi-channel operations including attaining targets in deposits, loans, memberships, and profitability while ensuring that our members' financial needs are met. This role also encompasses daily oversight of the Broker Division as well as our Omni-Channel as strong network partners for this new location.
The Branch Manager is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment, and has highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills and is passionate about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with both members and staff.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Member Experience
Create a positive first impression and model exceptional service delivery at every member interaction to foster the member relationship with a strong understanding of digital banking trends
Demonstrate strong member experience with internal and external members
Sales, Service, & Business Development
Manages the branch sales, service, and operations achieving organizational objectives, while adhering to all risk management, policy, procedure, and legislated standards
Manages branch deposits and lending activities (including underwriting and adjudicating credit) within prescribed discretionary limits
Mobilizes and encourages the branch team to deliver what is right for every member, while also balancing the interest of the credit union
Works to execute short term tactics/plans to drive specific behaviours and activities that maximize business growth, wallet share, member retention, and acquisition objectives, and other targeted results
Enhances the Bow Valley Credit Union’s visibility and status within the local community and builds a strong referral source for new potential business to drive relationships and growth
Actively seeks out marketing and corporate sponsorship opportunities to contribute to growth, actively participate in community events, and supports implementation and monitoring of any marketing in coordination with the Administration Office through positive reflection of the BVCU brand
Managing, Coaching, & Leading
Drives employee capabilities and engagement by setting individual goals and objectives, developing and coaching direct reports, continually assessing and improving levels of performance, supporting ongoing employee development and career planning, providing frequent feedback and guidance, and taking action to close any identified gaps.
Shares common goals, purpose, vision, and values with Bow Valley Credit Union, and helps to build relationships and encourages effective collaboration across all roles
In collaboration with Human Resources and other key stakeholders, implements training and development programs for all branch staff as well as participates in the recruitment of branch staff
Branch Controls & Compliance
Maintains control of all aspects of the branch, including controlling and monitoring expense and income streams and ensuring Internal Audit recommendations are carried out in a timely fashion with an eye to improving internal controls in conjunction with the Administration Office
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years’ management level experience and a thorough knowledge of retail banking operations, including ability to underwrite credit and investment sales
Experience in coaching to sales and referral target achievement combined with the ability to meet and/or exceed targets
Proven ability to achieve (team) sales goals and recognize new sales opportunities/ business development
Proven success in business growth, as well as establishing member and community relationships

Strong computer skills, with the ability to pick up new and existing programs quickly
Excellent communication skills coupled with strong attention to detail
Excellent leadership and management skills, able to motivate staff
Demonstrated organizational and broad management skills

This position is on-site
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:45 am to 5:15 pm
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
