Your mission: This position plays a pivotal role in supporting safe, efficient mill operations by optimizing production processes, tracking performance metrics, and resolving process and control issues. This role contributes to capital projects, maintenance turnarounds, and the development of best practices, while also mentoring others and pursuing continuous improvement. Develop area KPIs Downtime tracking and production loss reporting Determine and document process operating best practices Troubleshoot process and process control issues Advise Operations staff on process/process control opportunities and operating parameters Maintain and develop process control functional specifications Capital project development Maintenance turn-around duties Mentor and train junior process engineers, process operators, and others who will benefit Identify and actively pursue opportunities for personal and professional development Your profile: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta is an asset Experience in the pulp and paper industry or other industrial/manufacturing sectors is a strong asset Familiarity with process control systems, data analysis tools, or manufacturing software (e.g., DCS, PI, Excel, or similar) Demonstrated ability to contribute to capital project development or process improvement initiatives Valid driver’s license and ability to work in industrial environments Our offer: Start: Immediate start possible or within two weeks of offer Location: Hinton, AB Duration: Permanent Extent: Full-time Benefits: Health benefits; Company retirement; Events for employees; Learning & Development; Mobile phone for employees; Parking Get in touch: We strive to create a culture that inspires our people to reach their full potential.
