Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment in the shop and field environments. The successful candidate will be on a Monday to Friday schedule and will operate a service truck out of our General Line Construction – Calgary facility. Job Description: Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs Interface with customers, products and sales support Working with the supervisor on various tasks Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment Various related duties as required Qualifications Minimum 5 years as a qualified Red Seal HET Previous Dealership (CAT or Non-CAT) field mechanic experience - 3 years or more required. Paving and/or Wheeled Tractor - Scraper knowledge would be an advantage. Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on construction equipment Experience with customer facing roles/responsibility required. Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices *Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
