We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager to join our People Operations team. This role reports to the VP of People Operations and is a critical link between our specialty hospital teams and the Support Office, providing strategic HR leadership and operational support. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in employment law, employee relations, and workplace investigations, along with a strong ability to build trust and drive people-focused initiatives across a multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action
Lead and support workplace investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to legal and organizational standards
Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Coach leaders on respectful workplace practices, code of conduct, and effective communication
Promote a culture of fairness, accountability, and psychological safety across all sites
Field Operations Support
Partner with district operations leaders to deliver full-cycle HR support tailored to business needs
Act as a trusted advisor on people-related challenges, including absenteeism, mental health, and team dynamics
Champion employee wellness initiatives and ensure awareness of available support programs
Build strong relationships with hospital teams to foster open dialogue and engagement
Ensure consistent execution of HR programs and initiatives across the region
Strategic HR Leadership
Collaborate with regional leadership to align HR strategies with operational goals
Drive talent development through succession planning, talent mapping, and leadership coaching
Facilitate training sessions on performance management, employee engagement, and workplace wellness
Lead HR onboarding for new Operations Directors and Practice Managers
Support HR administrative processes including performance improvement plans, accommodations, and employment documentation
Health, Safety & Legislative Compliance
Ensure clinics maintain compliance with health and safety standards and program administration
Educate field teams on legislative requirements and organizational policies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal HR teams, operations, and cross-functional partners to support enterprise-wide initiatives
Contribute to the development and execution of HR projects and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications & Experience
5–8 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with a strong focus on employee relations and investigations
Demonstrated expertise in employment legislation, workplace investigations, and compliance
Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation is preferred
Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization
Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations is highly desirable
Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region, including occasional overnight stays
