Opta Glass: Re-Defining Recycled Glass for the Construction Materials Industry
At Opta Glass, we are reshaping the future of construction materials by turning post-consumer glass into high-performance, sustainable building solutions.
Why Opta Glass?
We’re leading the charge in sustainable innovation with a bold mission to:
Lower Environmental Impact – Our recycled glass products deliver up to a 20:1 reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional cement.
Divert Waste from Landfills – Our process minimizes glass waste, approaching zero landfill diversion.
Improve Construction Performance – Our materials enhance concrete strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and weather resistance.
Using state-of-the-art cleaning systems and proprietary fine milling technology, we’re producing some of the most advanced recycled glass materials in North America. Our flagship facility in Waterdown, Ontario, with a capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year, is now operational and poised to disrupt the traditional concrete and cement industries.
What Does This Mean for the Planet?
Our production impact is equivalent to one of the following each year:
Removing 21,000 cars from the road
Planting 1.6 million trees and nurturing them for over 10 years
Powering 11,000 homes annually
But the story doesn’t end there! Our ground glass also extends the lifespan of concrete, further reducing environmental impact and lowering total cost of ownership.
Join the Movement
This is Glass RE-defined™ - a breakthrough in green building materials. As the largest operation of its kind globally, our Waterdown facility is setting a new benchmark for performance-driven, sustainable construction products.
