Canrim Packaging Ltd., a division of Andrew Peller Ltd., is seeking two dedicated Harvest Cellar Hands to join our Cellars team at our Calona Wines/Sandhill Winery facility in downtown Kelowna.
Established in 1994, Canrim Packaging has been providing bottling and packaging services for nearly three decades. The facility specializes in bottling and packaging a variety of Andrew Peller branded beverages, including wine, cider, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.
In addition to our premium wines, we also specialize in the production of International Domestic Blend (IDB) wines, which combine high-quality international and Canadian wines. This process allows us to offer a diverse portfolio that meets consumer demand while maintaining the highest standards of winemaking excellence. Our IDB wine products include Cooper Moon, Honest Lot, and XOXO, in addition to our popular cider brand, No Boats on Sunday.
This a temporary full-time position starting in Mid August and ending mid to late October depending on harvest size.
Position Overview:
As a Harvest Cellar Hand, you will play a crucial role in the winemaking process working primarily outside in the grape processing area. Harvest Cellar Hand duties include the following:
Forklift work loading and unloading grape bins from trucks, washing and re-stacking bins.
Processing grapes including forklift work dumping grapes into hoppers, preparing ingredients, assisting with pressing and crushing equipment.
Moving and setting up equipment such as pumps and hoses.
Cleaning and sanitizing equipment such as presses, destemmer/crusher, pumps, hoses, tanks and tubs.
Emptying grape skins from tanks.
Supporting safety initiatives and compliance with EH&S regulations.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Collaborating with Supervisors and co-workers to optimize production efficiency.
Performing other duties as assigned.
This role is based out of the Canrim Packaging/Calona Wines/Sandhill Winery facility in downtown Kelowna and is a unionized position.

What We're Looking For:
Previous Cellars experience and Forklift experience are an asset.
Mechanically inclined and able to work under minimal supervision.
Committed to safety, with the ability to follow HACCP requirements and GMP policies.
Positive, team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
Reliable and flexible, willing to work all shifts as needed. Must be able to work Monday-Friday day and afternoon shifts. Some weekend work may be required.
Capable of safely lifting 50 lbs, working outside, sometimes in hot, cold or damp conditions.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
