Ice River is currently looking for three (3) Electromechanics (NOC 72422 - Electrical mechanics) to join our team. You will be working at our Shelburne facility, located at 108 Prentice Drive, Shelburne, ON, L9V 3N5.
These are permanent, full-time positions, based on 88 hours of work per 2-week cycle, with occasional overtime. At this time, we are only looking for individuals who can work a 12-hour rotating continental shift, including nights and weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY
As an Electromechanic, you will combine your knowledge of electrical and electronic systems with mechanical technology to operate electromechanical equipment. The electro mechanic will operate and maintain industrial equipment and ensure efficiency during manufacturing. Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to protect personal safety, company property, the environment, and the safety of team members.
Duties include the following:
Install and maintain electro-mechanical systems and machinery.
Ensure processing lines run smoothly by troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing automated systems.
Assemble electromechanical equipment and prepare them for the manufacturing process.
Rely on schematics and diagrams to determine the sequence of assembling machine parts and equipment.
Read blueprints and interpret technical specifications to determine how equipment or machine parts are put together to function properly.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and engineering drawings.
Test instruments to check the performance of electromechanical equipment, performing routine checks to identify issues that arise in the systems.
Participate in the implementation of various improvement projects.
Perform the necessary repairs and calibrations to electrical drive and monitoring systems ensuring machines continue working as expected.
Replace parts or repair equipment to ensure the electrical and mechanical systems seamlessly function to enhance operational efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meets the following minimum requirements:
in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
3-5 years in troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems and machinery preferred, in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
Experience working with Krones machinery.
Proficiency in electronic testing equipment and tools.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams and interpret schematics correctly.
Experience working with preventive maintenance software.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a lot of change.
Ability to work 12 hour continental rotating shift.
Excellent knowledge of health and safety and lockout procedures.
Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
Have a positive willingness to assist all departments as required.
Compensation
We offer a generous compensation package, which includes:
Starting wage of $36.07 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions and withholdings.
Employees are eligible to earn a Line Efficiency (LEF) Bonus upon achieving a series of criteria as outlined in the LEF Bonus Program. Details of this program are subject to change.
Operators that work an 8-hour shift can earn between $10 - $20 when 85% - 95% LEF target is achieved
Operators that work a 10-hour shift can earn between $15 - $25 when 85% - 95% LEF target is achieved
Operators that work a 12-hour shift can earn between $20 - $30 when 85% - 95% LEF target is achieved
Overtime will be paid at 1.5 time your regular hourly rate, after 88 hours worked in a 2-week work cycle.

Working Environment and Physical Demands
The electromechanic must stand, bending, kneeling, squatting, or crawling. Frequent walks, including going up and down stairs and ladders, and bending over are necessary.
It may be necessary to work at heights and in enclosed spaces.
Working conditions in some areas can be wet, slippery and noisy.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, able to squat, bend and kneel, as well as able to lift heavy loads and carry.
May involve exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, fumes, or hazardous materials.
PPE, such as helmets, safety glasses, gloves, or respiratory protection, may be required.
