The Hybrid Account Manager will promote, sell, increase, and preserve GFL Environmental Service Inc. liquid waste services to commercial and industrial organizations in the assigned territory by identifying and onboarding new clients, maintaining current customers, and developing strategies to outweigh competition. Prepare service agreements with knowledge of pricing, costs and equipment with input from the Commercial Sales Manager. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain working knowledge of commercial automotive waste services and equipment pricing, costs and application to vacuum truck services, parts washer services and body shop services. • Perform customer waste inventories, onsite job reviews, and product sampling as required. • Aggressively solicit and develop relationships with current and prospective customers to maintain and increase customer base. • Maintain good customer relations by traveling throughout assigned territory to meet with existing and prospective customers to assess and manage customer needs. • Compile and manage lists of prospective customers for use in sales leads through cold-calling and other techniques. • Penetrate new and existing market areas to maintain and increase sales and market share for assigned territories. • Develop a thorough knowledge of service offerings and regulatory requirements and demonstrate value to customers and prospects. • Facilitate the whole sales cycle: qualify prospects, quote, follow up, initiate service, and maintain the account. • Develop and exhibit proficiency in commercial placement, customer needs analysis, customer upgrades and customer retention. • Demonstrate proficiency in preparation and organization of sales presentations to major accounts by effectively displaying and demonstrating products and services and emphasizing marketable features. • Maintain awareness of the activities of all competitors. • Participate in business related meetings, conferences, and functions, to represent the company and network with potential/current clients. • Conform in all respects with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: • Knowledge or experience in waste management preferred but not required. • One to two years of sales experience with thorough knowledge of sales techniques. • Equivalent combination of education and experience. • Possess valid driver's license. • Exceptional communication skills, highly organized, collaborative and detail oriented. • Ability to effectively and professionally present information to customers, managers and the general public. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as volumes, estimates, and percentages. • Ability to create, design and implement solutions to general and customer specific problems. • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. • Ability to self-direct various assigned initiatives and to work under limited supervision. • Entrepreneurial spirit and high-energy. • Be able to travel 40-50% locally. • Valid G License and personal vehicle required.
