Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Redevelopment

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support our Redevelopment team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office at any MMC location.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Redevelopment, this position is part of a dynamic team with the primary objective of procuring construction-related services (contractor and consulting) for our member hospitals while ensuring exceptional customer centric service and nurturing strong supplier relationships remain at the forefront of all interactions as part of this role. In this position, you will support a competitive bid process that is fair, transparent and compliant with all applicable Federal and Provincial legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end open or invitational competitive RFx processes for construction and design/engineering services
Facilitating and leading stakeholders in the execution of sourcing strategies for single- and multi-hospital sourcing events.
Prepare procurement documents based on individual Member requirements and ensure the bid process is fair, open, and transparent and in compliance with current legislation and regulatory requirements (Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, internal procurement policies, Competition Act, Construction Act, etc.)
Maintain timely and accurate reporting of the progress of sourcing events in respective project management tool(s).
Facilitate the process for option years on awarded contracts
Support Senior Manager and Members by facilitating supplier management discussions during contract management phase
Ensure timelines are managed and maintained
Provide direction, leadership, and support to Members to help mitigate risk and ensure optimal outcomes are achieved
Engage with awarded vendors as required to finalize construction industry contracts (CCDC, OAA, ACEC)
Ensure high priority is given to the fundamental principal of customer centric service with a high level of responsiveness to all inquiries, internal and external
Maintain confidentiality, while meeting the needs of all Member facilities, throughout the RFx process
Receive, review and analyze sales reports from vendors; prepare and send rebate requests and validate received payment for each Member
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 – 5 experiences in public procurement and contract development and negotiations
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in procurement for construction, architectural or engineering services
Understanding of Canadian legal environment in respect to calling bids and awarding construction contracts (CCDC, OAA, or ACEC)
Professional procurement designation (CPPB/CPPO, CSCMP or alike), completed or in-progress, is an asset.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Business Central an asset
Experience and understanding of the foodservice industry an asset
Superior multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy is essential
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills in English (oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer centric approach is required
Driven to share success in a team environment
Sound judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential information
Demonstrated customer service-oriented approach for ensuring an enhanced customer experience
Travel
Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices, as required
Ability to travel to Member locations, as required
