Responsibilities Typical Resident Network Architect duties may include, but not be limited to, the following: Holding design and information gathering workshops to understand the Customer's existing network design and their future plans and goals. Understand a customer's organizational structure including network implementation, support processes and procedures. Passionate about creating a highly available and sustainable network. Test new designs, features, functionality & patching in a laboratory environment, developing plans to implement and verify success in the live network. Troubleshoot incidents and problems, opening and supervising cases through to problem resolution. This may include raising and tracking returns. Work on developing network optimization and configuration reviews. Author summary reports of the status of Design projects, incidents & problems. Discussing the same in meetings. Lead field training to educate Customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel in the configuration / operation of Juniper Networks products. Assist the Customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures. Supporting ongoing efforts in defining standard methodologies for Juniper product applications used by Customer Peering with colleagues performing similar resident engineering roles learning lessons which will help minimize risk for the customer. 40 hour per week position supporting testing at the customer location. This will be a mix of on-site and remote support. The Resident Network Architect will be encouraged to develop secondary skills in other products in the Juniper product portfolio. Minimum Qualifications Candidates will have a proven record spanning 5 years, providing implementation and technical support of relevant products. Will be proficient in the following areas: Experience in the installation and operation of Juniper Networks Routers and the Junos operating system. This includes hands-on experience monitoring and deploying Juniper hardware and software. A conceptual grasp of VXLAN and EVPN A firm understanding of protocols and services including Multicast, IP, IPv6, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, NAT and CGNAT Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Hands-on experience with most of Juniper routing and switching portfolio, which includes MX, EX, PTX series hardware.
