The Purchaser is responsible for the strategic bulk purchasing of parts and
components for distribution to all branches. This role ensures optimal inventory
levels, cost-effective procurement, and timely delivery of parts to support
operations and customer needs. Please note, this is an in person position and
reliable transportation is required as public transportation isn't an option.

Responsibilities
- Source and purchase parts in bulk from approved vendors and manufacturers
- Coordinate and execute volume parts purchases with PACCAR, ensuring alignment
with inventory needs and cost-efficiency goals
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate
pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across all branch locations
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient receiving,
storage, and distribution of parts
- Develop and manage purchasing schedules to support proactive inventory
planning and minimize stockouts
- Utilize inventory management system to monitor and adjust minimum and maximum
inventory thresholds
- Ensure accurate and timely creation, tracking, and maintenance of purchase
orders.
- Collaborate with Parts Managers and the Outside Parts Sales Manager to
identify and act on strategic buying opportunities
- Analyze purchasing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving
opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Assist in resolving any supply chain issues, including backorders, delays, or
quality concerns
- Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and
vendor performance
- Other duties and projects, as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or
inventory management, preferably in a related industries
- Proficiency with inventory management systems
- Completion of post-secondary certificate, diploma, degree is an asset
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation (or equivalent) is an
asset
- Strong mathematical and financial analysis skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Effective problem solving and negotiating skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to anticipate and deal with future problems and opportunities
- Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time
management and setting priorities
Compensation Rate
- $62,000 - $72,000 annually
