Legislated Mower Operators are responsible for providing roadside and industrial subdivision mowing services.Responsibilities include:Operating a tractor side-arm combination mowerPerforming basic maintenance and repairs to the tractor mowerChanging bladesLocating road allowance mowing sites on a mapCompleting safety and equipment reports digitallyLoading, transporting, and unloading tractor mowerReviewing local land conditions and marking hazardsCleaning and maintaining Agriculture shopMaintaining mowing records (hours, ground condition, mileage mowed)Cleaning tractor mowers before leaving site to avoid cross-contamination of weedsNotifying Vegetation Management crews of noxious weeds and providing land locationPicking weeds and seeding ditches in new construction areasQualificationsValid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract, Class 3 preferredExperience operating farm equipment, tractors, side-arm mowers, 3-pt hitch mowers, 3-pt hitch seeders, and/or hydro-seedersAbility to maintain the equipment usedKnowledge of noxious weeds, an assetAbility to manage time and priorities, and multi-taskComfortable using computers, including MS Office and GIS softwareComfortable reading maps and accurately determining land locationsThe successful applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.Additional InformationTerm Length: The incumbent can start as soon as possible and the contract will end on October 31, 2025.Work Schedule: This job is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The day typically starts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some weekends and evenings as required. During busy season, you may be required to start between 6 am to 7 am with the possibility of overtime.Hourly Pay: $28.61 to $33.66.
