Position Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the various tasks within the Shipping/ Production Department including but not limited to picking, checking, skidding, loading, stock replenishment , stock movement and assisting co-workers as required. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct Daily pre-shift inspection on powered equipment including Forklifts. Pick and check orders using DSI Scanner, skidding orders efficiently, correctly and safely. Report all hazards, accidents, incidents and near misses to the Lead hand or Supervisor immediately. Loading and unloading of trucks using assigned Forklifts and manually all year round. Verify picked orders; report any discrepancies to the Lead hand or Supervisor immediately. Adhere to all company rules, safety policies. Follow all procedures as set out by the Supervisor Monitor Quality of packaging and finished goods and report deficiencies to Shift Supervisor Ensure accurate packaging and labeling of finished goods Maintain housekeeping/cleaning of equipment and around assigned work area as per 5 S protocol Participate in Department and Company meetings as applicable Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, as applicable Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor Education and Certifications: Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent Forklift certification acquired through Company sponsored training program Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly Good communication skills Team player, strong interpersonal skills Previous manufacturing experience is an asset but not a requirement Demonstrates ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently Pay rate: $21.20 per hour Westlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
