About your next Challenge as a Test Engineer:
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer supports the Engineering Manager in working with the group of hardware design and product support specialists delivering (Return-To-Service) products on time and on budget. The high-level responsibilities include:
Develop and update second and third line repair capability for avionic products on CP140, F18 Displays and V3 Radar programs.
Automated and bench test procedures for avionics products.
EMI/EMC testing and analysis for aircraft and avionics products.
RF Avionic equipment test development
Military parts obsolescence research
In this role, she/he will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
What will you do:
Technical leadership of the engineering support for the operational Repair and Overhaul production line (part of Operations) including support to the technical team on the floor.
Develop test procedures for Avionic equipment on ATE and standalone BTS for RF, Analog and Digital testing.
Provide avionics RF and EMI/EMC test support and analysis.
Resolve component obsolescence issues and produce Engineering change documentation.
Develop and update test programs for avionics on automated test equipment including design of Interface Test Adaptors.
Troubleshoot technical problems and complete technical investigations.
Required Skills and Experiences:
Graduate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized University or Technologist with required experience. Candidates with minimum of 2 to 3 years related experience in the following:
· Design and development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for military and/or commercial avionics equipment testing to the component level
· Practical knowledge and experience developing RF test equipment/procedures for avionics.
· Development of Repair & Overhaul (R&O) test programs on ATE using one or more of the following programming languages and development environments: Python, NI LabVIEW, NI LabWindows/CVI, ATEASY
· Strong knowledge of with ability to evaluate and design general electronic circuits at the component level
· Working knowledge of RF technology, EMI/EMC test
· Ability to work independently, with minimal direction
· Strong computer & communication skills using MS Office product such as Word and Excel
· Working knowledge of drafting standards and CAD software such as AutoCAD
· PCB layout experience will be considered an asset
· RF design experience will be considered an asset
· Environmental test experience will be considered an asset
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
· Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
· Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
· Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
