The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational program. This role requires a passionate individual with a deep understanding of early childhood development, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.This position is located in the West County area. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in these areas: Beaverlodge, Elmworth, Hythe and surrounding areas.Plan and implement program plans to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of children; recognizing the stages of developmentResponsibilities in this role include:Prepare materials and activities for daily operation of the program that reflect goals and objectivesCommunicate with parents regarding Playschool policy guidelines, fees and child’s progressWork with community agencies when required to ensure program meets the needs of all childrenProviding opportunities for children ages 3 - 4 years to engage in play centered activitiesFacilitating social interaction opportunities for the childrenRole-modelling healthy interactions using evidence-based practicesProviding information and resources to caregiversPlanning playschool social/recreational activities that enhance children's developmental skillsMaintaining a clean and safe work/play environmentImplementing safety standards in children's activities and child monitoringLeading/assisting in emergency situationsOrganizing field trips for childrenMeeting/discussing children's progress with parents/guardiansProviding quality customer service to external clients and internal staff.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and have a love of children. You will also possess:Level 2 Early Childhood Educator and/ or equivalent trainingValid class 5 license with an acceptable driver's abstractReliable vehicle to be used for work purposes (team meetings, etc.)Experience working with groups of childrenExperience working with parent/caregiversCPR/First Aid with AED CertificateExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to use tact, diplomacy, and mature judgmentThe ability to provide safe and effective child development activities while monitoring/supervisingGood organizational and communication skillsSatisfactory Criminal Records and Child Intervention Record checks (to be provided prior to starting the role)Additional InformationWork Schedule: This position starts from September 15, 2025. You will work 14 hours a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays.
