TFS currently has an exciting contract opportunity as the Junior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Treasury and Budgeting Manager and Finance Manager. The successful candidate will assist Managers with various the Finance projects and support Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting activities. We have implemented a hybrid work environment and our head office is located in Markham, ON. Number of days worked in office is subject to role requirements. What You’ll Be Doing: The Junior Financial Analyst will assist the Treasury and Budget Manager along with the Finance Manager in the Finance Department with the following duties: Assist in various Project work: Assist with Finance department projects as directed by the Finance Manager Gain an understanding of the current workflow processes for project specific areas Work with the Team Lead to develop the action plan for implementation Work closely with project team and participate in the project activities Document and communicate findings Support Financial Planning and Analysis activities: Assist in the preparation of various weekly and monthly management reports Assist in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations for meetings. Provide support on ad-hoc analysis request. Support Accounting Activities: Assist with the month-end close process through helping with the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation tasks Assist team members with monthly KPI gathering and reporting Maintain and update department procedures and SOP’s What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting 1-2 years of work experience; Progress towards CPA designation. Intermedia to advance knowledge in Accounting Prior experience with the financial service industry would be an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Word and PowerPoint. Well organized and strong attention to detail Strong analytical skills. Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly and to work under tight deadlines.
