Hiring Unit: Teaching and Academic Programs Estimated Number of Positions: 1 Total Hours of Work per Term: 10 hours per week Position Summary: The Teaching and Academic Programs (TAP) unit is seeking candidates for a graduate student position related to teaching and learning in higher education to assist with instructor support programming (e.g., workshops, learning exchanges, resource development) and work on a variety of projects in support of related initiatives at McGill. This position is open to master’s and Doctoral students who are interested in developing their knowledge of and skills in teaching and learning in higher education. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of activities planned and implemented by a team of educational developers and other professional staff at TAP. This position is for approximately 10 hours per week, starting Sept. 8, 2025. As the position is to support a variety of projects, specific roles and duties will vary depending on the project requirements. Generally, the graduate student assistant will provide support for activities such as: developing and implementing teaching support activities (e.g., workshops; learning exchanges); developing/implementing/updating program/support materials (e.g., resource documents); communicating with various stakeholders (e.g., facilitators, participants); doing literature reviews and environmental scans; summarizing information used for planning and evaluation; preparing project documents and reports; developing and implementing data gathering instruments (e.g., interviews, surveys). Qualifications: Excellent information literacy skills (i.e., ability to define research terms; search online databases, journals, websites; prepare annotated bibliographies; and critically evaluate resources) Excellent oral and written communication skills Collaboration/teamwork and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a PC environment using word processing and spreadsheet application Assets: Experience using the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Forms, Lists) Experience writing blog posts and other texts Knowledge of the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual (7th ed.)
