Time Type: Temporary with Benefits (Fixed Term) Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards, you will support the management of Cogeco’s pension and benefit plans and disability management processes across Canada and the US. You will work in close collaboration with the total rewards team, third-party administrators, consultants and other outside suppliers, to ensure the effective administration of pension and benefits plans. You will lead and develop a team of two Disability Case Specialists, ensuring consistent and compliant application of disability policies and procedures across Canada and the US. You may be called to work on business cases and present your recommendations on benefit plans. You love working on the optimization of programs and business processes. YOUR ROLE: Pension & Benefits Support the ongoing implementation of harmonized programs for retirement/savings and group insurance. Be the go-to benefits person for business partners and management. Ensure the management of tasks related to pension plans: coordination of actuarial valuations, required documentation and communication with authorities, etc. Participate actively in, and coordinate the pension committee. Monitor and manage capital accumulation plans (defined benefit plans, defined contribution pension plans (RRSP), employee share-purchasing plan) with various suppliers. Take part in the preparation of employee communications, to ensure that all employees understand and appreciate the pension and benefit plans. Maintain and develop our training material on pension and benefit plans for HR partners and employees. Maintain and develop quality relations with third-party administrators, consultants and other outside suppliers. Develop and monitor various indicators for benefit and disability plans. Manage the deployment of annual group insurance renewals and re-enrolment periods Manage and promote the company’s wellness plans Disability Management Manage, mentor, and coach two Disability Case Specialists, providing guidance on complex cases, policy interpretation, and best practices. Oversee daily workflows, caseload management, and performance of the Disability Case Specialists, ensuring timely and accurate processing of STD and LTD claims. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Administration, HR, Labour relations, actuarial science, Mathematics or any relevant field. 7 years of experience in the management of group insurance and pension plans Strong planning skills, thoroughness, analysis and synthesis abilities Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to pension (SERP, Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and RRSP plans), and benefit plans and disability management for Canada and the US Ideally bilingual with very good knowledge of spoken and written French and English (The employee will need to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders outside of Quebec) Autonomy, initiative, judgment and good organizational skills Ability to carry out several major projects concurrently US and Canadian experience ideally You’ll benefit from: Flexibility: Yes, we think that what you do matters.
