As a member of the Population Health Data Strategy and Implementation team, the Senior Analyst is responsible for generating actionable insights related to population health and health system performance. This role involves full ownership of the data lifecycle, including the development of measurement and evaluation frameworks. The Senior Analyst produces information products of varying complexity to describe and predict how initiatives contribute to improved health outcomes for Ontarians while optimizing costs. This role plays a pivotal role in designing analytical methodologies and performance indicators that support Primary and Community Based Care’s initiatives. Here is what you will be doing: Provides expertise in outcomes measurement to inform healthcare decision-making and policy. Designs evaluation methodologies and leads assessments of new healthcare initiatives. Implements best-practice processes for data utilization, analytics, and reporting. Develops reporting tools and products focused on population health. Serves as a methodological expert for projects and reports conducted within Ontario Health and by external stakeholders, including the Ministry, Ontario Health Teams, healthcare providers, hospitals, and researchers. Supports the Primary and Community Based Care team in managing multiple data and analytics workstreams across Ontario Health. Collaborates on projects internally within Ontario Health and externally with partners. Performs cross-functional duties and other responsibilities consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. Here is what you will need to be successful: Education and Experience An undergraduate degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Health Sciences, Health Administration, Health Informatics, or a recognized equivalent, is required. 4-8 years of overall work experience, including 3-5 recent years specializing in information management, data quality, or healthcare information management activities. Experience in evaluation and a solid understanding of health economics. Experience with SQL and/or analytical tools such as SAS, Python, or R is considered an asset. Familiarity with healthcare datasets such as CIHI DAD and NACRS, OHIP, and other relevant sources. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, complex formulas, and pivot tables. Knowledge and Skills Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Ability to critically analyze and define problems, evaluate alternatives, identify solutions, and determine appropriate decision-making approaches. Understanding of Ontario’s healthcare funding across all sectors, including related processes, reforms, and accountabilities. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of clients, colleagues, and external organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying analytical results.
