ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development, the Product Manager will have overall accountability for the performance and competitiveness of Home’s mortgage lending products. The incumbent will be primarily focused on managing the ongoing performance of Home’s Residential Lending products, and will actively participate in the development of new products. This role will involve assessing the existing product portfolios to ensure they are competitive in Home’s chosen markets. The successful candidate will analyze and monitor the product performance, develop innovative plans, work with internal and external stakeholders, implement programs and communicate results
In addition:
Identify, assess and launch new line of business products to improve Home’s competitiveness and drive profitable growth.
Develop business cases for new product launches, or for product refinements to maintain/improve competitiveness.
Evaluate the existing product portfolios, and make recommendations to refine or change products to maintain competitiveness in the market.
Be the key Subject Matter Expert on Home’s Residential Lending products, including end-to-end knowledge of all aspects of internal operations and partner arrangements.
Conduct ongoing competitor intelligence and provide analysis against Home’s product offerings.
Maintain legal documentation and consumer facing correspondence to ensure all new and existing products are compliant with all relevant regulatory, legal, funding, and mortgage insurer requirements.
Ensure all relevant product documentation has been evaluated and modified (if necessary) to maintain compliance (Standard Charge Terms, Cost of Borrowing disclosure, etc…).
Support the relationship management responsibilities with external partners to ensure strong working relationships.
Assist in the development of new line of business products in response to fact-based consumer demands and market trends. Work collaboratively throughout the organization to design, evaluate, establish business requirements and develop marketing approach for product launch (incl. Sales, Underwriting, Operations, Credit, Compliance, IT, Treasury and Control groups).
Facilitate discussions and requirements gathering with management on the development of new product parameters and business cases.
Key resource on Project teams, and a representative of Sponsored projects.
Monitor cost of funds and competitor rates in order to make recommendations on pricing changes to management.
Undertake analysis to identify strategies that could apply to existing mortgagors to assist with loyalty and retention.
Develop innovative opportunities to enhance Home’s competitiveness in the homeownership market.
Identify trends that will facilitate deploying mortgage products through new and emerging channels.
Contribute to Home’s overall Strategy by leveraging the groups’ market intelligence, portfolio data, and external research.
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Authorized to work in Canada
Excellent written / verbal communication and professional maturity
Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
5 plus years relevant work experience within a regulated Canadian Financial Institution, with exposure to Real Estate Secured Lending.
Experience in Product Management, Product Development, Strategy, and/or Project Management.
Experience in Access, Excel, PowerPoint or use of SQL, SAP, SAS an asset
Experience writing requirements and working with IT
Strong interpersonal relationship building, negotiating and listening skills.

Strong organizational, time management, research/analysis skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to present to the organization’s senior management/executives
