Baker Tilly is conducting a search on behalf of one of our clients, who is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support the delivery of high-quality accounting services to a diverse client base. Key Responsibilities
As Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing client engagements and supporting staff accountants. Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising and mentoring staff accountants
Ensuring timely and accurate recording of AP, bank, and credit card transactions
Organizing and scheduling client AP payments, payroll, and remittance payments
Preparing and filing GST and WCB returns
Performing and reviewing reconciliations and general ledger accuracy
Assisting with financial analyses, audit processes, and client queries
Supporting digital workplace initiatives and senior personnel
Handling ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative spirit:
3–5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience
Strong experience with Accounts Payable, GST filings, and ideally payroll processing
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, reconciliations, and journal entries
Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and within a team
High proficiency with digital tools and technology
Canadian permanent residency or citizenship required
Experience with public companies, IFRS, and external audits is an asset
An accounting designation is a plus, but not mandatory
