The Bilingual Proofreader is responsible for detecting and marking for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors in both English and French. The scope of “Materials” includes all promotional components, such as labels, packaging, sales and promotional content, and publications in print, digital, and video formats. This role uses both manual techniques and computer-assisted proofing, editing, and translation software.
Permanent Full-Time (40 hours)
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexible); Remote
In this role, you will:
Proofread Materials for grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors in both English and French
Follow established procedures for reviewing and correcting Materials
Prioritize and manage tasks within deadlines
Ensure consistency of handling layout, expressions, abbreviations, etc. within each label category or brand
Verify both human- and computer-generated translations
You have:
Proofreading experience and/or training (2+ years)
Completion of a bachelor's degree or diploma in French (preferred)
College diploma or certificate in second language training
Excellent knowledge of spelling and grammar in both English and French
Training and/or education in editing or translation
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Proficiency with work management systems (Asana, Jira, Monday.com, etc.)
