We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Creative team based at the 8330 Chester Street office in Vancouver, BC, with occasional requirement to work from the 2777 Kingsway office. This individual will report to the Merchandise Manager.
Job Overview: The Graphic Designer works on a wide range of deliverables in varying styles however the focus will be on high volumes of packaging and print projects. They will be responsible for illustrating and designing seasonal packaging as well as extensions in sub brands and product category designs. Print work will include retail signage, catalogues and marketing and sales collateral. Collaboration across departments will be key to achieve brand standards. The position will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality.
You will have the opportunity to:
Brainstorm creative direction alongside the Marketing and Merchandise teams for seasonal packaging and print campaigns
Create original and cohesive illustrative collections for use on Purdys packaging
Translate strategic direction into high-quality designs that align with the Purdys brand
Develop concepts and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout whilst maintaining design standards throughout all collateral
Manage the design and uploading process of all project material.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to keep a consistent branded point of view across all channels
Research current design and graphics trends in design and marketing
Promptly respond to shifting priorities and feedback
Update and maintain design files and assets
You will be a good fit if you have:
Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Certificate in digital design, graphic design or a related field
Minimum 3 years designing packaging and print
Minimum 3 years experience in a retail, design studio, or agency environment (Creative Agency, Retail experience a plus)
High degree of proficiency in Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), MS Office Suite & Outlook
Previous experience in food/ beverage packaging with an understanding of print production and experience setting up files with specialty finishes is an asset
