This position is full-time and is 100% in-office.
Based at our Vancouver plant, The Stock Room - Purchaser is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory systems at the Plant through processing purchase requisitions and reviewing the inventory data on a regular basis. Other responsibilities of the role include managing relationships between the company and customers in a professional manner, and replenishing inventory as needed.
Wage: $35/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
Source goods & services and create purchase orders for inventory replenishment and direct requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures
Review and maintain the accuracy of inventory systems by verifying quantities and checking for shortages and/or overstock
Ensure that all relevant inventory and associated data is accurate, utilizing a computerized system
Report any critical shortages to the Purchasing Agent in a timely manner
Manage activities between vendors and end users, ensuring a high quality experience
Issue items from the storeroom and help maintain storeroom in an orderly manner
Work with end users to understand their needs & define specifications
Operate forklifts as required in a safe and efficient manner
Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities
Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract
2-3 years of purchasing and/or inventory management experience, or willingness to learn an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with ERP systems is an asset
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
Functional Requirements
Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and exposure to animal by-products
