About the Opportunity JOB SUMMARY: The Student Account Representative serves as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, staff and other involved parties concerning all related activities regarding Student Accounts for Northeastern’s Canadian campuses located in Toronto and Vancouver. This position provides the highest level of customer service (via phone and electronic communications) regarding financial status with the University. The Student Account Representative counsels all current and prospective students and families regarding financing options and financial policies. Ensures the highest level of compliance with federal, state and institutional policies—with complete and accurate processing in the student account. Student Account Representative also process payments, complete financial forms and documents and process student refund requests. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Represent the student account at Open Houses, orientations, workshops, recruitment and advising programs. Counsel and advise students and parents on student account policies, payment processing and financing options. Research & provide account conflict resolutions with university partners Through appointments, e-mail, written correspondence and telephone communication, explain line item and summary of student account credits/debits and NU billing procedures. Assists with customer service to over 150,000 contacts. Responsible for providing customer service in accordance with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies—over 7,000 separate federal and state regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree preferred, 1 year of experience in a higher education, student accounts/bursar or related field preferred. Customer service experience required. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student and parent population.
