We are currently seeking a Senior Portfolio Director to lead our portfolio of government and public sector accounts. This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented leader with strong operational management experience in a unionized environment.
The Senior Portfolio Director manages the relationship with the clients and the Union(s) and monitors budgets, staffing and service levels of our operations teams across their given portfolio. The successful candidate must be comfortable taking on both strategic and tactical, hands-on work and they will have a proven track record of building teams and ensuring service delivery exceeds contractual service level agreements and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of commercial janitorial contracts within government and public sector facilities.
Ensure consistent delivery of services in line with contract scope, KPIs, and compliance requirements.
Lead and mentor a team of operations directors, managers and supervisors, and support staff to achieve development and performance goals.
Oversee contract execution, monitor service delivery standards, and implement corrective actions as needed while maintaining compliance within specific collective agreements, legislation and corporate policies.
Manage client and union relationships with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach, maintaining high client satisfaction and retention.
Develop and manage operational budgets, including labor forecasting, materials procurement, workforce optimization and cost containment.
Collaborate with Sales, HR, Finance, Compliance, Customer Service and other support departments on projects, contracts, and operational matters.
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies across all accounts.
Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
Manage an Operations team which may include Operations Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads and Administrative staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations or facility services.
Proven success in managing commercial janitorial or facility maintenance contracts, especially within unionized environments.
Strong understanding of contract management, budgeting, and performance metrics.
Experience overseeing services in government, healthcare, or institutional settings is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership skills and emotional intelligence.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make strategic decisions quickly.
Proven presentation skills and experience in public speaking.
Proficient computer skills and ability to work with data for analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting and familiar with working with Excel spreadsheets
Must be self-motivated, outgoing, and energetic with a high level of commitment
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is considered an asset.
Ability to flex one’s work schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may include times outside of the regular 9 to 5, Monday to Friday.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across sites.
