The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Communications & Stewardship, the Manager, Donor Stewardship, is responsible for designing and implementing multi-year, multi-tier strategies and programs to engage existing donors and to foster positive interactions that directly impact fundraising. The Manager works collaboratively across all Foundation teams to determine the best strategies for effective and personalized donor stewardship.
Core Responsibilities:
Oversees the Foundation’s donor journey strategy across donor segments, including Annual, Monthly, Event and Major Gifts
Leads end-to-end project management, planning, implementation and tracking of stewardship plans in alignment with donor segment journeys
Builds and oversees the yearly engagement experience strategy and execution for affinity groups such as 100Women and Spirit of Life Society
Leads stewardship communications and materials including writing personalized donor communications, and impact reports
Designs, implements and maintains donor recognition areas (electronic and physical) across the hospital
Manages donor lists for impact reports and ongoing communications and leads the data management process in collaboration with the Donor Services team.
Develops strong collaborative relationships with appropriate hospital staff to support the creation of donor impact reports
Maintains accurate, centralized records of stewardship plans to ensure that commitments are met on time
Maintains and adheres to calendar to ensure timely execution of stewardship tasks
Collaborates with the hospital and internal teams to develop naming opportunities within the organization and executes on plaque and naming installations as per donor gift agreements
Works collaboratively with the Event team to plan and execute stewardship events including donor appreciate events, announcements and gift celebrations
Provides timely reporting on Key Performance Indicators to Foundation leadership
Supervises and mentors the Foundation’s Donor Experience Officer
Qualification & Skills:
University degree and a minimum 5-7 years experience working in donor relations, donor operations or communications in the non-profit sector
Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for donor communications
Excellent project management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficient working with Blackbaud CRM or other related fundraising databases
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud
Proven experience working cross-functionally, with team members at all levels, and ability to project manage
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Fundraising experience in either an academic or healthcare setting is an asset
Salary Range: $82,500-$87,500. Eligibility for merit pay and comprehensive benefits including Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan enrollment
