BC Place is hiring a part-time, casual HVAC and Refrigeration Technician.
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Operations, the HVAC and Refrigeration Technician will work with the Event and Maintenance team providing technical support services and some preventative maintenance and repair of a variety of complex stadium systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Various HVAC, refrigeration support and repairs for stadium events;
Repair and maintain kitchen related equipment;
Analyze and resolve technical concerns and perform maintenance duties as required;
Works with the procurement team ordering spare parts, and maintain inventory;
Provide administrative support, complete work orders and requisitions electronically and written reports;
Provide service excellence to internal and external clients;
Carry out duties efficiently in scheduled time frames;
Follow all safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment. Adhere to the stadium health and safety regulations, including Health and Safety regulations and company policies;
Perform other duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Red Seal Certification as HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic required;
4th class power engineering and/or Gas ticket an asset;
Varied experience in building maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical repairs, troubleshooting;
Solid understanding of operating and maintenance of equipment, working in a safe manner following WCB regulations, BC Place policies and procedures, and other related regulations;
Proven familiarity with tools of the trade and safe working practices;
WHMIS certificate an asset;
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word;
Demonstrated effective communication skills including ability to carry out duties from work orders;
Proven self-starter with exceptional problem-solving skills;
Be able to handle multiple assigned tasks and situations including exposure to seasonal heat and cold in an outdoor and indoor environment, long periods of standing, ability to comfortably lift 50 lbs, ability to work at heights;
Familiarity with kitchen equipment repairs an asset;
Fall protection, scissor lift, forklift training/certification an asset;
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Able and willing to work varied shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required;
Driven by service excellence.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $43.39
