BC Place is hiring an Optimization Manager to elevate how we plan and deliver events. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in streamlining operations, enhancing service delivery, and implementing smart, forward-thinking solutions that drive efficiency and guest satisfaction. From refining end-to-end processes to managing high-impact special projects, you will play a key role in shaping the future of events at one of Canada’s most iconic venues.
Working closely with the Assistant General Manager, the Optimization Manager leads the strategic planning and continuous improvement of event operations at BC Place. This role collaborates with Events & Guest Experience, Facility Operations, and Safety & Security teams to deliver seamless, high-quality events of increasing complexity.
What you will do:
Drive process improvements to enhance guest and client experiences across all event types.
Align cross-functional teams through clear communication, shared timelines, and common standards.
Define objectives, audiences, and KPIs in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Stay current on industry trends and lead implementation of best practices.
Analyze event execution processes to identify inefficiencies and improve workflows.
Gather feedback from teams and clients to uncover pain points and areas for optimization.
Streamline logistics, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation across departments.
Leverage project management systems (in partnership with the Enterprise Applications team) to improve planning, communication, and execution.
Benchmark performance, conduct root cause analysis, and propose data-driven solutions to close efficiency gaps.
Develop and manage implementation plans, including budgets, milestones, and success metrics.
Lead special projects aligned with broader organizational goals.
What you will bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within Project Management, ideally in event operations and delivery, and guest experience or related fields
Familiarity with project management tools and systems
Proficiency with Momentus is a definite asset
Proven experience in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and resource allocation
Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform decision-making
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time
Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in the event operations and delivery industry
A proven track record of using innovation in support of event operations and service excellence delivery
IT, digital and media literate including the use of desktop programs, tablets and social media
Proven track record and history of being driven by operational excellence
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a time-sensitive environment
The salary range for this position is $80,000-96,000
Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
