About the Role:
Do you have a passion for creating unforgettable experiences? Are you energized by finding new and creative ways to engage audiences?
Corus Radio Toronto is looking for a Promotions Coordinator to bring their ideas and energy to the legendary 102.1 The Edge for a 12-month contract.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on planning and executing dynamic promotions, on-air contests, and community events for 102.1 The Edge.
You’ll also lend your creativity and support to sister stations Q107 and 640 Toronto when needed.
Reporting to the National Promotions Director, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that’s passionate about connecting our brands with listeners in meaningful ways.
You will contribute by:
Execute all aspects of station promotions for 102.1 The Edge—from contests and events to listener engagement and prize fulfillment.
Write promotional announcements, contribute to social media content, schedule posts, and communicate contest details to on-air talent and staff.
Plan and run station events, charitable initiatives, and community partnerships.
Collaborate with the sales team to create and deliver innovative sales promotions and marketing campaigns.
Partner with the Promotions and Program Directors to develop impactful promotional strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and local businesses.
Oversee street team coordination, training, and scheduling; manage on-site appearances, event activations, and live broadcasts.
Stay on top of industry and market trends to identify new opportunities.
Maintain promotional inventory, signage, equipment, supplies, vehicles, and related documentation.
Be available for evening and weekend events as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and experience you will bring:
Post-secondary education in Journalism, Broadcasting, Radio/Television Arts, or equivalent experience preferred.
3+ years of radio promotions or related experience.
A positive, outgoing attitude and a drive to succeed.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Creative thinking and the confidence to share innovative ideas.
Initiative and relationship-building skills.
The ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency with Windows, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Social media savvy and an understanding of how to engage audiences online.
A valid G Class driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
