Job Description What is the opportunity? The Senior AI Engineer will pioneer RBC’s next-generation platform for autonomous and semi-autonomous AI solutions in Risk & Security. You will drive the full engineering lifecycle, your expertise in generative models, deep learning, and data analysis will be critical in creating intelligent and transformative AI applications. With dedicated GPU-capacity, a rich multi-cloud data estate and the support of RBC’s innovation programs, you’ll turn novel ideas into deployable products that may generate new intellectual-property filings. What will you do? Deliver quick prototypes that provide operational efficiency and automates manual tasks in IT risk , demonstrating measurable value to Risk, Audit and Cyber stakeholders. Design and code LLM- and agent-based workflows (LangGraph / Semantic Kernel) with retrieval layers, policy guard-rails and auditor-ready narrative generation. Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot today and emerging code assistants) to accelerate coding, testing and documentation while maintaining secure-coding standards. Develop and deploy classical ML models (e.g., XGBoost, isolation-forest) for anomaly detection, quality scoring and trend analysis, with drift/health monitoring. Integrate results seamlessly into Archer GRC, ServiceNow IRM, publishing APIs and documentation for downstream consumers. Scale the prototype into a plug-in SDK that allows new risk, regulatory or security use-cases to be added with minimal engineering effort. Produce clear documentation and, translating technical outcomes into auditor-friendly language and securing stakeholder sign-off. Champion secure coding, data-privacy and AI-safety best practices, while mentoring interns or junior engineers when needed. What do you need to succeed? Must-have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. 4–8 years professional software engineering with Python or TypeScript. At least one production deployment of an LLM/RAG or agentic AI solution. Demonstrated experience training & deploying classical ML models (e.g., XGBoost, isolation-forest) and implementing drift/quality monitoring. Expertise with containers & CI/CD (e.g. Docker + GitHub Actions or Argo CD). Strong data-integration skills across REST/GraphQL APIs, SQL (Snowflake, Teradata) and unstructured blobs/OCR. Proven ability to deliver a working MVP in under 90 days with minimal oversight. Vector database operations (pgvector, Milvus, Pinecone). Experience with dual-cloud environments (Azure & AWS) or on-prem GPU clusters. Experience with distributed ML training frameworks (Ray, SageMaker). Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with various teams and stakeholders Nice-to-have Working experience in cyber security space and/or heavily regulated spaces (finance, insurance, health) Experience managing data science teams. Familiarity with IT control frameworks (NIST 800-53, ISO 27001) and SOX/ITGC automation. Knowledge of ServiceNow IRM data schema & Symantec ICD-M feeds. What’s in it for you?
