Join our team today!Job DescriptionThe Social Worker reports to the Clinical Services Manager, Emergency, with professional accountability to the practice leader for social work. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of patients and families throughout the continuum of life, dealing with such issues as bereavement (including early pregnancy loss), end of life issues, domestic violence, child abuse, difficult family situations, facilitated discharge and staff incident debriefing.Accountabilities:Works collaboratively with the allied health team in coordinating patient plan of careRepresents social work professional practice in various Emergency Department related meetingsParticipates in yearly strategic planning initiatives and corporate professional developmentQualificationsMasters degree in social workRegistration with the OCSWSSWMinimum of three to five years social work experience in an emergency departmentPrevious work history of dealing with one or more of the following client types/issues: elderly, homeless, domestic violence, paediatric, substance abuse and bereavementKnowledgeable in community resourcesKnowledge and experience working with relevant legislation (i.e. SDM Act, POA, consent and capacity, etc.)Knowledge of the psychosocial impact of chronic illness on the person and the familyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamMay be required to travel between and work at all Osler sitesExcellent organization skills and ability to set priorities as requiredGood critical thinking and problem-solving skills requiredDemonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsMust be able to work independently and interdependently within multidisciplinary treatment teamComputer proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as MeditechExcellent attendance, punctuality and work recordMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAdditional InformationHours: Currently Days/Evenings, 8/12 hours shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)SALARY:
