The Fanshawe Falcons are a nationally recognized athletics program and brand with the goal of consistently providing national championship experiences for our student-athletes. Fanshawe College is seeking an experienced, highly qualified and motivated leader to be the Part-time Head Coach of its championship Golf program. Note: This is a part-time casual position (up to 24 hours per week) until February 2026. Summary: Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, and working closely with the Varsity Officer for Golf, the Head Coach is committed to excellence in all areas and leading the program to national prominence. The Head Coach is focused upon creating a positive team culture, student-athlete recruitment and retention, academic success, and the holistic development of student-athletes (character, leadership, community service and engagement). The role includes regular internal communication, coordination, and administrative support. Responsibilities: The Head Coach – Golf Program, will be responsible for performing the following roles and/or delivering the following outcomes (under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics or designate): Coaching duties consistent with the management of an excellent varsity program Recruitment and retention of outstanding student-athletes with strong character Complete adherence and compliance with all Fanshawe College, OCAA and CCAA requirements, rules, policies, and procedures Supervision of assistant coaches and team support personnel Development and implementation of individual and team high-performance training plans that foster student-athlete development and team success Tactical and technical preparation for games and practices Team and individual goal setting and evaluation Monitoring and promoting student-athlete academics Assisting in the budgeting and scheduling process, along with other administrative duties relating to travel, accommodation, and meals Communication with student-athletes, recruits, and other stakeholders Mentor and support the positive and holistic development of student-athletes Team fundraising, including alumni development, volleyball camps, and assisting in operating Fanshawe’s annual high school volleyball tournaments in conjunction with Athletics staff Support College recruitment and admissions events, processes and protocols Participate in annual student-athlete orientation programs and professional development Embrace the Falcons Athletics culture while promoting and supporting all Athletics Department initiatives including, but not limited to, marketing, fundraising and engagement programs Demonstrate commitment to coaching professional development and Safe Sport Engagement initiatives in local community volleyball leagues and associations Represent Fanshawe Athletics at various meetings Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Athletics Qualifications: Outstanding character, integrity, passion and a commitment to overall excellence Member in good standing with the CPGA NCCP Advanced Development Coach-Trained coaching certification required (Performance Coach stream preferred) Minimum 2 years of golf coaching experience at a high performance level (college or university preferred) Golf head coaching experience is preferred Demonstrated success as a golf coach at the post-secondary (preferable) or secondary levels Be an excellent communicator with strong teaching and technical golf skills Excellent leadership, organizational, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills are required, in addition to building strong relationships and being able to work in a team environment Recruiting and/or other relevant training or teaching related to sport an asset Values consistent with the standards of Fanshawe College Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Minimum College diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred) combined with experience working in an academic setting Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Records Check is required for this position prior to the commencement of any duties Educational Credentials While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory as a condition of employment.
