Purpose:
The Digital Product Management chapter is growing to support strategic
initiatives within Astellas. One such space is GenAI solutions. This role
involves leading or being a core member of a Value Team(s) as a Digital Product
Manager, understanding business needs and opportunities, translating these into
product strategies and roadmaps, and leading development of digital solutions
from early prototype to launch and post launch evolution. The Digital Product
Manager will coordinate Value Team activities working closely with the Pod and
Hub leadership teams as needed, delivering value for the business, working
within our agile methodology and development framework.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
As a member of the Digital Product Management chapter, although this role is
expected to focus principally on GenAI product initiatives and solutions, it is
expected that the foundational and core skills of digital product management can
be leveraged where appropriate and necessary to work as a core member of, or
Value Team captain for, other Value Teams within DigitalX, as directed by the
Digital Product Management Chapter Lead.
Some of the expected core responsibilities are outlined below.
- Translate business needs into digital product initiatives. Specifically,
identifying high impact GenAI opportunities aligned to enterprise priorities
and unmet user needs.
- Manage stakeholder communications to align product initiatives with broader
organizational objectives.
- Lead and own product strategy and road mapping activities for GenAI product
initiatives, aligning with business goals and market needs.
- Lead a cross-functional value team(s) through the full digital product
lifecycle - from ideation, prototyping, development, testing, to launch and
continuous improvement based on user feedback and performance metrics.
- Act as the voice of the customer, identifying user pain points and
opportunities through research and feedback, and advocating for usability,
value creation, and adoption of GenAI products.
- Define clear product requirements, prioritize features, and manage agile
development cycles, ensuring rapid iteration, high-quality delivery, and
strong alignment between business and technical teams.
- Monitor product performance, using analytics and user engagement data to
drive continuous improvement, optimizing product iterations and output
quality.
- Stay current with emerging GenAI technologies and industry trends to innovate
and maintain competitive advantage in GenAI product considerations.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, privacy, and security, as appropriate, to
ensure adherence to relevant regulations in pharma (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
This position may require travel domestically and/or internationally
Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Engineering, Information Systems/Technology,
Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 6 years related experience in digital product management or
related roles.
- Proven experience managing digital products end-to-end – from strategy and
roadmap creation to development, launch, and optimization.
- Specific product management experience in digital solutions, ideally with
experience of working with and assessing the potential impact and value of
AI-driven technologies and solutions.
- Skilled in developing product requirements and translating technical and
non-technical information for diverse stakeholder groups, including senior
leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in using project
management tools.
- A genuine passion for providing value to users through digital product
innovations. Must be driven to make a positive impact in the healthcare
domain.
- Effective communicator with strong leadership, collaboration, organizational
skills; comfortable working across global, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to tactically and proactively operate as a team leader and team
member, ability to adapt to address challenges and unknowns with structure
and an enthusiastic approach.
- Strong sense of ethics and responsibility, understanding the importance of
prioritising patient safety, data privacy, and ethical considerations in all
decisions.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Experience of working in a global organization.
- Strong understanding and experience of Agile working principles and
practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AI-driven technologies and solutions across
computing, integration, storage, and visualization domains, and their
potential to enhance value and functionality specifically within the context
of GenAI for Astellas.
- Proven experience in leading teams and executing extensive transformation
programs centered around GenAI solutions within large, complex, and heavily
regulated organizations.
- Relevant certifications in technology or AI-driven fields in cloud, platform,
or application tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, DataBricks) with a focus on GenAI
technologies
