In this role, you’ll develop and implement robust strategies and management practices for treasury and pension operations – encompassing funding, investment, liquidity, foreign currency and interest rate risk management. You’ll also maintain key relationships and governance structures, while executing transactions within risk tolerances, Crown corporation directives and regulatory requirements. With your excellent business judgment, you’ll ensure the effective acquisition of goods and services, including promoting operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, driving cost reduction, mitigating risks and aligning procurement activities with overall business objectives. What you’ll do Provide strategic leadership over all aspects of FCC’s treasury, including funding, investment and financial risk management Ensure compliance with Board-approved policies and limits Manage interest rate, liquidity and counter-party credit risks through effective strategies and use of derivatives Deliver industry standard transfer pricing practices and governance Maintain relationships with industry peers, Crowns, the Department of Finance and other partners Manage FCC’s financial and plan sponsorship duties for the employee pension plans, including lead the funding, investment, asset allocation and risk management activities for the DB, DC and SERP pension plans, while ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements Establish strategies related to actuarial valuation asset mix, discount rates and funding requirements, regulatory changes, and evolving industry practices Manage a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture Lead corporate procurement, including overseeing the strategies to optimize processes and maximize value, while also advancing sustainable procurement practices What we’re looking for Proven leader passionate about helping others succeed Analytical thinker able to interpret complex information to develop sound business strategies that consider risk, priorities and business needs Excellent business judgment and attention to detail Collaborative relationship-builder who works across levels and teams, and develops partnerships with internal and external stakeholders Skilled communicator able to provide actionable insights in a way that’s easy to understand Creative problem-solver who can find solutions to business challenges What you’ll need A bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, actuarial science or economics and at least 10 years of leadership experience in financial management, investment, and/or pensions (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) A professional accounting (CPA), financial (CFA), actuarial designation and/or an MBA is required Advanced expertise in financial, investment and risk management, including knowledge of capital markets, economic theories, derivatives, and asset liability management Understanding of pension management concepts, such as plan design, actuarial liabilities, asset liability management, and associated governance and regulatory frameworks Proficiency in general business and corporate procurement standards and practices You belong here At FCC, we’re committed to creating an inclusive, equitable and accessible workplace – one that reflects the communities where we live, work and play.
